The Togolese Tchanilé Tchakala (46 years) has been appointed coach of the hawks of Togo (Togo national football team) as a replacement for Didier Six, has announced Monday, June 23, the Minister of Sports and Leisure, Angèle Amouzou-Djaké, with at her side members of her cabinet, the president of FTF (Togolese Football Federation ), Gabriel Améyi and members of the FTF Executive Board.
“It makes me even happier that the new coach is Togolese. It’s Tchakala Tchanilé. The duration of his term is six months,”said the Minister of Sports.
The job of the new coach will be to help the hawks qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations which will be held in Morocco.
Gabriel Améyi is well convinced that Tchanilé Tchakala needs to “be assisted in his mission. He knows the players well for having long served as a member of the technical staff of the national team under Didier Six . This is an advantage. His choice goes straight to our heart. All we now have to do is help him succeed”.
